We are expanding our International Language Area. During this time, we are adding shelves and moving books, so books in the language you want may be in a different place. Please ask at the Reference Desk if you can't find what you are looking for!

Attention Green-minded Canton Library Users

Green-minded Canton library users can check out books and recycle their paper in one trip! Just bring your paper to one of the bright green bins located in the back of the library parking lot. Acceptable Items: newspapers magazines catalogs school and office paper shredded paper (in bags) mail paperback books Unacceptable Items: cardboard phonebooks glass metal plastics trash (including paper towel and tissue) hardcover books For a list of other recycling resources in the community, please check out CPL's Canton Green Resources and click on "Recycle".

Candle Containers

candleapIn honor of the many holidays that use candles in celebrating, we invite you to come design a container of your own. So come get creative with beads, glitter, tissue paper and embroidery thread and jazz up a candle container for whatever holiday celebration you like best!

Tween Book and Pizza Club

Tween Advisory Board

Fifth and sixth graders: join your friends at the Canton Public Library to let librarians know all about stuff that interests you. Tell us what kinds of books, movies, music, and websites you like and help out with different programs! What could be better than helping the library design programs you want us to have? You can also get volunteer credit for every Tween Advisory Board meeting and event you come to!
No registration required

Storytimes - Babies 4 - 11 Months

A half-hour program to introduce sensory and literacy activities. Please, no siblings, so that you can devote your full attention to your baby. Online registration begins October 27 (Non-resident registration begins October 29)
All children must have their own library card to register
Ages: 4 months - not yet 1, and a caregiver
Session Dates: November 11 - December 10
Times: Tuesdays @ 6:30 - 7 pm OR Wednesdays @ 11:30 am - 12 noon

Storytimes - Children 1 Year

Children ages 12 months - Not Yet 2 Years old, accompanied by a caregiver are invited to join us for a half-hour program of simple stories, finger-plays and songs.

Lil StorytimeA 45-minute interactive storytime and craft program for children who are able to attend without a caregiver. Caregiver must remain in the library during session. Family Storytime

We invite families with children ages 1-5 years old to join us for a half hour program to share some great books and fingerplays. Registration not required
Ages: Children 1 - 5 years old with caregivers
Dates and Time: Saturdays, November 15 - December 13 @ 11-11:30am

ABC Activity Time

Come explore sensory activities, puzzles, nesting and matching games, with your young child ages birth to five year old. Caregivers must remain with child. Registration is not required
Ages: Birth to age 5 and a caregiver
Session Dates: November 12 & December 19
Times: Wednesdays @ 10 - 11 am and Fridays @ 10 - 11 am
Location: Community Room
Note: No ABC time on Friday, November 14th, or Friday, November 28th
