Community Literacy Council

The Plymouth-Canton Community Literacy Council  (CLC) is a volunteer, non-profit organization aiming to improve adult literacy in Plymouth-Canton and surrounding areas of Western Wayne County.  The CLC mission is to provide adults with basic reading, writing and communication skills, so they may participate in their community and reach their fullest potential in life.  For over 27 years, the CLC has been offering tutoring services to enhance the lives of individuals in our community.

ELL Book Group

Advanced English Language Learners — join us Friday, February 8th and 22th at 1:00 PM to read and discuss books in English. Books will be discussed until finished. Meets in Group Study Room A every other Friday.
 

Pay it forward: a novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde — the moving story of Trevor McKinney, a twelve-year-old boy who accepts his social studies teacher's challenge to come up with a plan to change the world. Trevor's idea is simple: Do a good deed for three people and ask them to "pay it forward" to three others who need help.


Beginning Excel

Learn to create a spreadsheet and manage a list with Microsoft Excel 2007. Prerequisite: Mouse and keyboarding skills. Join us Wednesday, February 20th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools offers ESL Classes

The Plymouth-Canton Community School District offers English as a Second Language classes for a small fee at the Starkweather Education Center for Alternative and Adult Education. Classes meet four days a week.
