Reading Assistance Dogs

Kids and Tweens going into grades K-6, improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a dog. Sign up for a 10 minute session. Space is limited, on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 6:25PM.

Mother Daughter Book Discussion

The Canton Public Library is the recipient of a Giving Hope Women's Giving Circle Grant. Money from this grant is used for this Mother Daughter Book Discussion, a group for girls in grades 5-12 and their mothers or other significant women in their lives. Only the teen or tween needs to register for this program, but you will receive 2 books to read. This month's book selection is Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Anne Brashares.  Register online today!  Program Date: Saturday, September 11 from 4-5 p.m.

Storytime Registration

Storytime registration begins Monday, August 30. Storytimes begin the week of September 13. Children must have their own library card to register for storytime. Check out this video to see some of the fun activities we do in storytime.

We have storytimes for various ages: For families planning to bring children of multiple ages, please sign up for the Family Storytime.

Summer Reading Winners

We hope you had fun participating in our Summer Reading Program this year. The Canton Public Library had 4,487 patrons register for the program this year. Attached is the list of the raffle drawing winners. Children, tweens and teens can come to the Children's Desk to receive their prizes. Adult prizes will be available at the Adult Desk. Winners will have until September 4, 2010 to pick up their prizes. Congratulations to everyone!

Tamil Storytime

Tamil, a prominent South Indian language, will be taught using stories, songs and games. All ages welcome. Registration not required.

Kiwanis Storytime

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Canton will read stories and complete fun activities. For all ages. Registration not required.
