Inspired from the book “Gingerbread for All Seasons,” by Teresa Layman, they are a feast for the eyes. The houses are constructed completely from edible materials like fondant, royal icing, candy canes, pretzels, shredded wheat, hand-rolled gingerbread, and more. Come be delighted and inspired by what you see! Created by Susannah Estoker, a junior at Plymouth Christian Academy, her gingerbread creations will add a bit of whimsy to your day.
http://www.cantonpl.org/blog/art/gingerbread-houses#comments Art Arts and Crafts Food and Cooking Kids Tweens Teens Adults Parents Seniors Christmas townhouses whimsy windmill Fri, 24 Dec 2010 01:19:06 +0000 Carolyn Beacha Estoker 23335 at http://www.cantonpl.org Seaworthy: A Swordboat Captain Returns To The Sea http://www.cantonpl.org/blog/jobs-and-career/seaworthy-swordboat-captain-returns-sea Remember Linda Greenlaw, the highly acclaimed sword boat captain of the commercial fishing boat the “Hannah Boden?” She was touted in the book “The Perfect Storm,” by Sebastian Junger as being one of the best captains in the sword fishing industry, surviving the disastrous North Atlantic storm of 1991 that capsized her sister ship the “Andrea Gail”. Did you also know she is the often humorous author of six books? She has penned four non-fiction books highlighting her career as a fishing boat Captain, including her latest book, “Seaworthy,” along with two mystery fiction books, with plots also centered around the sea. Check all her newest book Seaworthy, as well as all her other books here at CPL. http://www.cantonpl.org/blog/jobs-and-career/seaworthy-swordboat-captain-returns-sea#comments Jobs and Career Adults Fiction Non-fiction Biography Mystery commercial fishing mystery swordfishing Fri, 24 Dec 2010 01:03:17 +0000 Carolyn Beacha Estoker 23332 at http://www.cantonpl.org Award Winning Gingerbread House http://www.cantonpl.org/blog/award-winning-gingerbread-house We invite you to come view the gingerbread house on display now through the end of the year at CPL.
