Harriet the Spy Contest: Attention All Spies Ages 8-11

Do you like spying on your parents, brothers, sisters or classmates? If you do, the library is holding a Harriet the Spy contest during the month of April to celebrate this book's 50th anniversary. The journal winner will receive a gift certificate to Dairy Queen.

In order to win you need to do four things:
  1. Pick up the 2-page hand-out at the circulation desk and complete it.
  2. Create a map of your spy route.
  3. Keep a journal/notebook of your own and make a spy entry everyday.
  4. If you used spy gadgets, write about them in your journal.
All completed journals/notebooks with hand-outs must be turned in at the checkout desk by 6:00 PM on Monday, May 5th to be considered for the prize. Put your name and telephone number on the cover of your journal.

All entries will be judged by our expert spies. They will be looking for all four items to be completed, originality of spy route map and uniqueness of daily journal entries.

Looking for ideas? Check out the library's Harriet the Spy display, books and videos.

Happy spying! Don't get caught!
