Read some Michigan mysteries

I read a book to earn this badge:
Unexplained Michigan Mysteries

Unexplained Michigan mysteries: strange but true tales from the Michigan unknown by Gary Barfknecht — Reading true, unexplained tales like these late at night always creeps me out a little. But that's part of the fun!

Went Canoeing

Went canoeing with a group of friends at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor.  What a work-out!

West Bloomfield Trail

We discovered this wonderful trail this summer. It passes by Orchard Lake (the road and the actual lake!) and runs for  28 miles.  We haven't traversed all 28 miles, but have thoroughly enjoyed all  the miles we have.

Read a book set in Cassopolis, Michigan

I read a book to earn this badge:
Kyle's Island

Kyle's island by Sally Derby — It's a summer of change for twelve-year-old Kyle. His grandmother has died, his parents have separated, and his mother has just announced that the beloved family summer cottage in Cassopolis must be sold. Kyle's determined to make this family summer at the lake a good one despite all the upheaval. The vivid descriptions of the lake and cottage made me feel like I was right there alongside the characters, fishing and swimming.

Visited a historical village

I went to South Lyon and visited McHattie Park. Within the park is a historical village that includes an old train depot (now a museum), caboose, chapel and one-room schoolhouse. The picture is of me sitting on the steps of the schoolhouse.

I read a book to earn this badge:
Crazy for Canada Noa Schwartz
