Tweens

NHS students are here to provide 3rd-12th graders free homework help. If you're interested in getting tutored:

  • You must be in 3rd through 12th grade
  • If you're under 12, your parent must remain in the library
  • You must bring the assignment and any other needed materials

Days and Times

  • Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library

There will be no tutoring during breaks or school closures/snow days, including April25.

Can't get enough of Zeus, Thor, and Osiris? Take a journey through the ancient world with games, activities, and crafts inspired by Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology. You'll even have a chance to write your own myth!

Registration begins on July 22. For ages 7-12.

Join us on Saturday, April 16, for Safety Day.  We'll have representatives from a variety of community entities stopping by between 1:00-3:00 PM for this "open house" style program, providing helpful tips about how to stay safe in a variety of circumstances.  Stay tuned for details about individual presenters and topics!  No registration is required for this all-ages program.

Safety in My Neighborhood by Shelly Lyons

Children in ages 7-10 interested in science, technology, engineering and math will learn something new each month in a STEM topic. In honor of DNA day this month, explore cellular reproduction and the blueprints of life. Saturday April 30, from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Community Room. Registration is required.

wrestlers in the ring

Can't make it to WrestleMania this year?  Then come to our own wrestling-themed program, inspired by the WrestleMania reading challenge, on Monday, April 4, 7:00-8:00 PM.  Local wrestlers, including The Mysterious Movado, will visit CPL to read stories, talk about what it's like to face off in the ring, and hang out for photo-ops!  All ages are welcome, and no registration is required!

D&D dice

Roll up some fun with kid-friendly Dungeons & Dragons Gaming! This monthly program takes place the fourth Monday of every month. Have fun using your imagination while also working on building problem-solving skills, practicing mathematics and chart-reading, and learning new vocabulary. The next session is April 25, 4:30-5:30 PM. All playing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own dice and/or D&D 5th Edition Character Sheet. This program is suggested for ages 9-12, and no registration is required.
