Starfish Family Services: Babysitting Class - CANCELLED

Summer is here! Babysitting is an excellent way to spend your time and possibly make a few extra bucks in the process. On Saturday, July 11th from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM the staff from Starfish Family Services will teach young men and women from 6th-8th grade the basics of babysitting, including safety in the home and caring for infants. Participants will receive training in first aid. This is an all day event, so don't forget to bring a sack lunch. Registration begins on June 15th.

All Around the World: Live Animals

Join us on Tuesday, June 30 at 2:00-3:00PM as we take an exciting look at animals from all around our world in this live animal presentation. Topics covered include habitats, senses, physical differences, defenses, myth, truths, and instincts. Animals presented will represent a variety of continents and vertebrae groups. These critters are sure to AMAZE!

Movie Madness: SpongeBob Sponge Out of Water

Start your summer off right with a viewing of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water on Wednesday, June 17 starting at 2:00PM. Life is dandy in Bikini Bottom for SpongeBob SquarePants and all his friends in Bikini Bottom. However, when the top-secret recipe for Krabby Patties is stolen, SpongeBob finds that he must join forces with perpetual adversary Plankton and battle a fiendish pirate named Burger Beard, who has his own plans for the delicious delicacies.
This film is rated PG. You may bring your own pillows, snacks, or blankets.

Battle Bunny Book Transformation

Battle Bunny coverWho says you shouldn't write in a book?  Come to our Book Transformation program on, Monday, July 13, 2:00-3:00 PM, and -- in the spirit of Jon Scieszka and Mac Barnett's Battle Bunny -- we'll take ordinary children's books and make them extraordinary by changing text, adding visuals, and making other alterations.  This program is for ages 9-12.  Registration for this program is required and begins June 25.

Dungeons & Dragons Tournament

Light InfantrymanEngage in a little friendly competition -- in your mind -- with a Dungeons & Dragons-based tournament game.  Role-play the part of a competitor in a fantasy tournament.  The player who lasts the longest wins a prize!  Swords will clash on Wednesday, July 8, 7:00-8:00 PM.  no registration required, but players must be present at the beginning of the event to participate.

Dungeons & Dragons Gaming Club in August

DiceRoll up some fun this summer with kid-friendly Dungeons & Dragons Gaming.  This monthly program will take place the fourth Monday of every month, June-August. Have fun using your imagination while also working on building problem-solving skills, practicing mathematics and chart-reading, and learning new vocabulary. The next session is August 24, 4:30-5:30 PM.  All playing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own dice.  This program is suggested for ages 9-12.  Families are welcome.  No registration is required.
