The 30th Michigan Senior Olympics  Summer Games will be held July 5 through July 12 at Oakland University and other sites in Oakland and Washtenaw counties.  A complete schedule is available on their website.  Hayes Jones, 1964 Gold Medalist is this year's chairperson.  Mr. Jones will host the 30th. Anniversary Celebration of Athletes featuring guest speaker, Bill Laimbeer,four time All Star, twice an integral part the Detroit Piston team that won the NBA Championship and head coach of the WBA's Detroit Shocks.

The world-renowned Michigan Elvisfest began in 2000 in Ypsilanti, Michigan's historic Depot Town. Riverside Park is the place where Elvis fans flock by the thousands every July to pay homage to the King of Rock'n'Roll and to hear the most award-winning professional Elvis Tribute Artists in North America, as well as other talented Legend Tribute Artists

So come to Riverside Park on the banks of the Huron River on Friday, July 10th. (5 PM to Midnight:$15.00*) and Saturday, July 11th. (Noon to Midnight:$20.00*). Children 12 and under are admitted free.

The Canton Public Library is starting a Living Books program where patrons can check out "living books" (that would be YOU) for 30 minutes of face-to-face, one-on-one conversation. These interviews are intended to answer questions for the curious, satisfy special interests and beliefs and learn from others' experiences. With dialogue comes understanding - with understanding comes tolerance.
