Some recent viewpoints regarding society's business customer service ratings make for some interesting reading in the July 2011 issue of Consumer Reports. BOOM! The Entrepreneur

Join TechTown on June 30 at NextEnergy for BOOM! The Entrepreneur, the latest in a series of programs for would-be entrepreneurs over the age of 50.

This two-hour workshop, sponsored by BOOM! The New Economy, motivates and inspires baby boomers to take the next steps in starting a business.

Randal Charlton, executive director of TechTown and a serial entrepreneur in his own right, will lead the group in a discovery of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The program also includes one-on-one counseling sessions with TechTown business experts.

Summer Movies @ Canton Senior Center

Canton Township's Canton Seniors (55+) offers a great lineup of Summer Movies every Tuesday beginning July 7 through August 11.   The cost is $7 for Residents or $9 for Non-Residents for lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the movie at 1 p.m. If you would like dessert and the movie the fee is $1. Please register at the Canton Senior Center desk at the Summit.  For more information contact the Senior Center at 734-394-5360.

National Fudge Day

The Ultimate Candy Book: More than 700 Quick and Easy, Soft and Chewy, Hard and Crunchy Sweets and Treats by Bruce Weinstein — Celebrate National Fudge Day on June 16 and try one of the 700 recipes in Bruce Weinstein's cookbook. The story is in 1866 a female student at Vassar College adapted the English recipe, added chocolate, and began selling fudge for 40 cents a pound at Baltimore, MD confectioneries.

Bring your dish and 10 copies of the recipe to share. Prizes will be awarded based on the audience's preferences. Also watch an Indian cooking demonstration and tasting.
