Bear Fun

Not all bears can hibernate this winter! Kids, ages 4-8, can bring their cuddly teddy bears to a special program to share together. Bear stories and a craft will be part of the fun. So crawl out of those blankets and pull yourself away from the computer. LB and Thorndyke vote this the most important library program of the year. Register online beginning December 30.

Program Date: January 13, 7:00-7:45PM.

Narnia Read-alikes

If you've seen The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in theaters and can't get enough of all things Narnian, here are some other fantasy voyages to check out:

The book of three by Lloyd Alexander — An Assistant Pigkeeper sets out on a quest to make a name for himself in the country of Prydain.

Tuck everlasting by Natalie Babbitt — The Tuck family discovers the source of the fountain of youth, but find that eternal youth isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The door within by Wayne Thomas Batson — Aidan Thomas finds himself pulled into new world that he must rescue.

Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders

Sock yarn one-skein wonders by edited by Judith Durant — So often I find myself with just one skein of a gorgeous yarn. It can be hard to know what to do with it, and running short just shy of completing a project is not a place I want to be. I also love sock yarn, but I'm not a sock-knitter, so I love these projects that allow me to use that gorgeous fiber in other ways. I have added many of these items to my queue!

Where are Dora and Diego?

"Where are the Dora books?" "Where are the Diego books?" These are two questions the Children's Librarians often hear. While we have many Dora and Diego books in the Picture Book section, don't forget that there's another place to find them. That place is the Readers section, where you can find books for both Dora and Diego shelved under J READER DOR. Ask a librarian to show you next time you come to the library!

Storytimes @ the Canton Public Library

Budget and staffing constraints have forced the library to re-evaluate our storytime offerings. We are able to offer more spaces by holding all of our Family Storytimes in the Community Room. Family Storytimes, which are replacing our age specific storytime, do not require registration. These sessions are suitable for children up to age 5 and offer a variety of activities for the whole family.
Our Baby Storytime does require registration and is suitable for babies up to 18 months. Please, no siblings, so that you may devote your full attention to your baby.
