Black History Month: On-line resources

Looking for a resource to help you with a Black History Month assignment?  We have collected many on-line resources to help you find biographies, images, timelines and quizes. 

Puppet Kit Collection

You may have noticed that we're expanding the Children's puppet collection to include puppet kits of popular stories (like Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak). If you have a favorite children's story you'd like to see included in this collection, please let us know - we always appreciate your input!

Grandparent Fun

Grandparents are welcome to bring their grandchildren to Grandparent Fun on February 12, 2009 from 10-11am.  We meet monthly to enjoy stories, songs, crafts and play!  This months theme is Love so be prepared to make some special Valentine crafts and have a lot of fun!  Registration is now open, use your own library card or your grandchild's.

Hey, kids - meet Marley!

Marley, the lovable Labrador who inspired a best-selling book and a hit movie, now comes to us in a format for beginning readers.  Marley & Me: Meet Marley and Marley & Me: Marley to the Rescue follow the escapades of Marley, who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. If you love dogs, you'll definitely love reading about Marley's crazy adventures.

ABC Time

ABC Activity Time is a drop-in play program for children ages birth to five and their caregivers.

Join us every Tuesday at 7pm and Wednesday at 10am through February 18.

Candle Containers

candleapIn honor of the many holidays that use candles in celebrating, we invite you to come design a container of your own. So come get creative with beads, glitter, tissue paper and embroidery thread and jazz up a candle container for whatever holiday celebration you like best!

Tween Advisory Board

Fifth and sixth graders: join your friends at the Canton Public Library to let librarians know all about stuff that interests you. Tell us what kinds of books, movies, music, and websites you like and help out with different programs! What could be better than helping the library design programs you want us to have? You can also get volunteer credit for every Tween Advisory Board meeting and event you come to!
No registration required
