Beginning Readers
Child Identification Event
Stop by the Community Room on December 1st from 5:30 to 8:30 PM for a special identification event sponsored by New York Life. The free ID cards for kids will include a photo, digital fingerprints and other vital information. Should there ever be an Amber Alert, this card is a first step in finding missing children.ABC Activity Time
ABC Activity Time is an informal session where parents, caregivers, children and babies meet together in a relaxed environment. This drop-in playtime includes sensory activities, puzzles, and matching games for children ages birth to 5, with caregiver. No registration required. The library is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. We will not have ABC Activity Time on those days. Program Dates and Times (November 14-December 17):- Mondays-Saturdays, 10:30-11:00 AM
- Mondays, 1:30-2:00 PM
- Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30-8:00 PM
Family Storytime
Family Storytimes begin the week of November 14. These storytimes are designed for childrens ages 5 and under with a caregiver. Storytimes are held in the Community Room and do not require registration. The library is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. We will not have Family Storytime on those days.- Mondays, 10:00-10:30AM and 1:00-1:30 PM

ZooZical a Musical Story

Farewell, Miss Kristen
It is with greatly mixed emotions that we bid a fond farewell to our Children's, Tween & Teen Services Program Specialist, Kristen Kostielney. Kristen will be leaving us in September to take a position as a head start teacher with the Campagna Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Please join us in celebrating the nearly 21 years Kristen has spent with CPL and wishing her all the best with a farewell reception on Thursday, September 15 from 5:00-6:30PM in the Purple Room. Kristen's departure opens up a position here at the library and we are currently accepting applications for the Children's, Tween & Teen Services Program Specialist position.
Where Did the Puppets Go?
The puppets in the Children's Department will be unavailable for checkout beginning Wednesday, August 31, 2011. The puppets will be getting some much needed TLC before school starts, to keep them in the best shape possible for everyone to enjoy. The puppets will be available again after the Labor Day holiday. Welcome to Kindergarten
Are you going to kindergarten in September? Are you a little nervous about going to school for the first time? Come to this special storytime, just for you and your caregiver! This fun Welcome to Kindergarten programming will take place on Augut 24, 2011 from 2:00 to 2:45PM. Registration starts August 10, 2011 for children going into Kindergarten and their Caregivers.
