Gustafer Yellowgold's Rock Melon Tour
Give a sunshiney, warm welcome to Gustafer Yellowgold! A friendly creature who came to Earth from the sun, Gustafer is living out an explorer’s life in a slightly psychedelic version of the Minnesota woods with a sensitive Dragon, fashionista Pterodactyl, his best friend the Eel, among many others. The Rock Melon Tour is a multi-media performance of live music, animated illustrations and storytelling presented by its creator, Morgan Taylor.

Join us on Monday, February 18 from 12:00-8:45 PM for an all-day family movie extravanganza. You may bring pillows, snacks, even your own comfy blankets or chairs.

1:00-3:00 - The Incredibles (PG). A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world.
Creatapillars February 2013
Are you a creative kid? This program is tailored to kids who are 7 to 10 years old. Let your creative side flow in our monthly crafting program, Creatapillars. Our project for February will be working with salt dough. We will meet on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Registration will begin Friday, January 25. Storytime Changes
Starting on January 14, there will be a number of exciting changes to our Storytime roster! We will continue to offer Family Storytimes, add a second Baby Storytime, and unveil our Preschool Storytime sessions. Please read the information below to determine where your child will have the most fun, then follow the links to additional information about objectives and guidelines to create the best experience for your child.
Baby Storytime
Baby Storytime is intended for children who are 18 months and younger. An adult must accompany the baby to storytime which lasts approximately 30 minutes. In the Purple Room, registration requiredFamily Storytime
Family Storytime is intended for children who are 5 and younger. An adult must accompany the child to storytime which lasts approximately 30 minutes.- Mondays 10:00-10:30 AM in the Community Room

Preschool Storytime
Preschool Storytime is intended for children who are 3 to 5 years old. We encourage independence in the preschool storytime; children are welcome to attend this session without their caregiver. Caregivers must stay in the Children’s Library while the storytime takes place. If their caregiver decides to attend the session they are expected to take part in the storytime activities. Each Preschool Storytime session lasts approximately 30 minutes. In the Purple Room, registration requiredAll structured storytime sessions will be followed by a 30 minute open ABC Activity Time.

Family Storytimes begin the week of January 14. These storytimes are designed for children ages 5 and under with a caregiver. Storytimes are held in the Community Room and do not require registration. Saturday sessions are in the Purple Room.

This week we are giving away a family pack of four tickets to see Candy Canes & Kiddie Rock featuring SteveSongs, Mr Steve from PBS Kids. Come join the staff of Premier Athletics: Little Explorers as they jump and tumble, dance and sing. This program incorporates music and games to inspire children to learn and grow both mentally and physically. Caregivers and their children aged two to five are encouraged to check it out for themselves on Tuesday, December 18 at either 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM. Please only attend one session. Traditional Yoga Basics
On Wednesday, November 7 from 7:00-7:45 PM, Thirupu Siva will teach young people from 6-16 years of age the basic asanas, building up to various intermediate poses. Please wear loose fitted clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat to work on. Registration for this program begins on October 25. Gordon Briley and The Adventures of Lily and Ava
Local Author Gordon Briley will talk to us about his inspiration and writing process for creating the rhyming picture book The Adventures of Lily and Ava. Attendees will get a look at the book and be able to ask the author any questions they have about the how to write a book. Families are invited to join us on Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 PM for this fun program. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.October is National Vegetarian Month
