March is Reading Month Fun!

March is National Reading Month. This annual celebration is designed to encourage reading as a fun activity for the whole family. Various community organizations are helping us promote reading in fun ways. On March 4, the Plymouth Canton Preschool staff presented a storytime in honor of Dr. Seuss. Later in the month, Community Finanacial and the Kiwanis Club of Canton will be at the library to share their love of reading.

Come on in to help get your children started on a lifetime of reading!

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the talented dancers from O'Hare School of Irish Dance in Plymouth. We'll all be clapping our hands, tapping our toes and feeling very Irish for the evening. The dancers will be followed by an Irish folktale as told by one of our very clever librarians. Faith and Begorrah!
See you Thursday, March 10 at 7:00PM in the Community Room.

White Collar

White Collar [season 1 DVDs available here] is a procedural crime drama about FBI white collar crime expert Peter Burke and his former-art-forger-and-thief confidential informant Neal Caffrey, who in conjunction with his friend Mozzie (pictured) use unconventional tactics to bring criminals to justice. If you enjoy this fictionalization, try some of these true stories of brilliant theft and deception:

Gaming the game: the story behind the NBA betting scandal and the gambler who made it happen by Sean Patrick Griffin

Literary hoaxes: an eye-opening history of famous frauds by Melissa Katsoulis

Madoff with the money by Jerry Oppenheimer

But with this book, you can make your own goodies from previously used materials — save some cash and go green at the same time. This book has lots of tips for making old items seem new. Isn't it time to add some useful art to your landscape?
