| A
Vision |
| Canton is
a vibrant, active and growing community and its library
reflects that spirit. What started in a few rooms at the
township hall in 1980 has evolved into a state-of-the-art
model library and a symbol of the community’s commitment
to education, enrichment and lifelong learning. |
| Books
... and More |
| Today’s
Canton Public Library serves as a community center, a
place for exploring information and exchanging ideas.
Our goal is to provide patrons with resources that inspire
curiosity, cultivate understanding and excite the imagination. |

it."

| The
Future |
To
ensure the library’s long-term financial stability,
an endowment fund has been established with a goal of
$1,000,000. A gift to this fund expresses a belief in
our community and creates a lasting legacy that will
benefit Canton residents now and for years to come.
With your help, we will continue to:
- Inspire
a love of learning in our youngest patrons through
enhancements to our children’s, tween and teen
programs.
- Build
our collections into the most diverse, stimulating
and comprehensive in the region.
- Invest
in information technologies to provide the latest
research, communication, and computing tools.
- Enhance
our facilities to offer a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere
for leisure, learning and community building.
- Expand
the possibilities of our Internet
Branch, to promote our innovative programs
and services while providing users with remote access
to library resources and beyond.
- Celebrate
the diversity of our community and provide materials
and programs that reach out to people of varying cultural
backgrounds and interests.
- Provide
excellent customer service with a staff that is knowledgeable,
flexible and responsive to patron needs.
